Have Your Say - Help Shape Childcare Support at Ulster University

The University is inviting you to complete the 2024 Staff and Student Childcare Facilities Survey, before 15 November.

The University’s Student and Campus Experience Project Board has initiated a working group, led by Professor Mary Hannon-Fletcher, Dean of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, to assess the feasibility of offering childcare facilities.

As part of this process, the University is undertaking a number of actions, including a review of the approach adopted by other employing and service providing organisations, a review of our campus estate for any possible future provision and the extent of local childcare arrangements that are provided close to our campuses.

To better understand the needs of our community, the University is launching the 2024 Staff and Student Childcare Facilities Survey, and your input is essential.

Why the University Needs Your Feedback:

This survey will help the University gather crucial data on the childcare needs of staff and students, including how many people might use these services, the type of facilities that would be most beneficial, and the factors that would influence your decisions regarding childcare.

While the University is not yet committing to providing childcare services, the responses collected will play a pivotal role in helping us explore options with professional providers.

Professor Mary Hannon-Fletcher, Dean of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, commented: “I would like to encourage colleagues to participate in this childcare facilities survey as your input will directly influence our next steps. Your feedback will enable the University to consider options that will create a supportive environment for all members of our community, including those balancing their studies or careers with family responsibilities. Your participation will contribute to the development of a detailed proposal, which will be presented to the  University Senior Leadership Team for consideration.”
