Job Title: Student Activities Assistant (SAA)
Place of Work: Coleraine Campus
Reporting to: Student Activities Team
Hours: 5-10 hours per week during Semesters 1 and 2
Flexible hours around your availability
Both daytime and evening work required
Salary/Wage: £12.50 per Hour (paid monthly)
Purpose of Job: As a student staff member within UUSU you will play a key role in communicating with the student body, supporting campaigns and marketing and delivering UUSU events and activities
Support and Training: You will receive support from your Student Activities Team and training relevant to the role
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Showcase and support the delivery of engaging, fun, diverse and inclusive events on campus.
- Encourage students to volunteer with UUSU, participate in volunteering projects, and engage with opportunities in their campus community.
- Support UUSU societies with the work they do, promoting, supporting and attending society events.
- Ensure that content on UUSU socials is engaging, timely and relevant. Regularly engage with students in a face-to-face manner.
GENERAL
The Student Activities Assistant will:-
- At all times by word and deed portray a positive image of the Ulster University
Students' Union.
- Set high standards of integrity, punctuality, accuracy, politeness and
professionalism by personal example.
- Undertake such other duties as instructed, as are within the scope and spirit of
the job purpose, the title of the post and its grading.
- Any information and data provided to the Students’ Union and used directly or
indirectly in your role shall remain at all times the property of the Students’ Union.
Notes
- The post will be subject to a six-month probationary period
- For full and effective discharge of duties, the post will, at times, require additional commitment over and above normal office hours. The post-holder is expected, within reason, to undertake such hours as are necessary to successfully perform the duties of the post. Overtime is not payable but Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) may be agreed with your line manager as appropriate
- The post-holder will be offered the opportunity to participate in training relevant to their duties and will be expected to undertake such training as may be reasonably practicable.
