Feeling Social
Ulster University's Coleraine campus Judo club is one of three original sports clubs. Set up in 1969 by Marietta McGrellis who was one of Ireland's first women Black Belts.
Our club coach is Dr Richard Briggs 6th Dan who has been club coach for over 40 years, instructing students from beginner to Black Belt.
Our club competes in two competitions during the academic year; the Northwest Judo Championships are an excellent competition for beginners, and the Irish Intervarsity which is hosted by an Irish university on a rota basis. Ulster University has hosted the Irish Intervarsity twice in recent years with the last event being held in 2019.
Training takes place on a Monday, 7.30pm to 10pm in the Sports Centre. Membership to the club is £70.00 and is payable online, or at the Sports Centre reception. All students are welcome and no experience is needed. Wear comfortable activewear.
