Feeling Social
Welcome to the UU Politics Society. We are a group of students of all backgrounds and political beliefs that wish to bring politics to the forefront of Ulster University. We are unbiased towards all views and we welcome healthy debate in our society, from people of all walks of university life. You don't need to study politics to join us, and you certainly don't need in-depth knowledge to join either! Whether your interest in politics comes from home, school, your course, or you just wanted to try something new, we welcome you!
Our committee is working to make our society better for its members and for you, should you choose to join us. We want to encourage healthy debate around a range of topics – from the mundane to the taboo. We want to break down the stigma that surrounds politics in Northern Ireland and help students feel comfortable in voicing their opinions and thoughts in the forward-thinking, inclusive institution that is Ulster University.
We will work closely with lecturers to help those in need of support and those who are simply curious about the world of politics. We will host study sessions and drop-in clinics where students can find help when it is needed and ask questions they may have felt uncomfortable asking in class. Along with these activities, we aim to host a number of events throughout the year to support our society and give students an opportunity to make new friends and find new interests. In the Politics Society, we hope to offer you:
If this sounds like something you would like, feel free to contact us via email, our website, or our Facebook page. If you are still on the fence, we would be happy to chat and see if the society is for you!
