Feeling Social
The Child Health Society is a relatively new medical society, run by medical and allied health students of Ulster University mainly on the Derry/Londonderry campus.
It aims to bring students together who are interested in paediatrics and child health. It hosts a variety of events during the year including academic, social and community-based. Some of these events have included guest talks, pub quizzes, Christmas present collections and of course, the local annual Teddy Bear Hospital. We are also looking into finding research opportunities for members interested in the future.
Charity fundraising forms a major part of Child Health Society’s activities throughout the year. Upon the formation of the society, members chose the Altnagelvin Parent’s Support as our main charity, who act as a support group for parents of children who spend time on the wards in Altnagelvin and whose children are living with lifelong medical conditions.
