What we are about....

Doing a PhD can be very isolating so our primary goal is to bring like-minded students together from every department to socialise and make connections during our PhD journeys!

The Doc - E008 (located near the Student Union bar)

What activities are we planning?

10th April 2025 - Yoga Session 

• Where? Room E019, UUC
• When? 10th April, 11:00am-12:30pm (75 minutes)
• Why? To promote wellbeing, to come together and have some fun, and to fundraise for our Ball in June!
• Who can attend? Open to all staff and students, including undergraduates
• How much? £5 per person
• Do I need to bring anything? Just yourself, a bottle of water, and some comfy clothes! Yoga mats are provided :)

5th June 2025 - Doctoral Society Ball 

• Where? Waterfoot Hotel, Derry/Londonderry 
• When? 5th June, 7:30pm (following the final day of the PhD festival at Derry/Londonderry Campus)
• Why? To celebrate our achievements at all stages of the PhD journey! The Ball is located here as many researchers from all campuses will be attending the PhD fesitval at UU DLD
• Who can attend? Open to all PhD Researchers - no sociey membership necessary
• How much? £40 per person, with the option of bringing a +1
• Dress Code? Formal 
• Will there be transport? If you attend the PhD festival then you will already be at the UU DLD campus. We are arranging for a bus from the hotel to return to UUC and UUB campus after the Ball.
