» Coleraine Campus Update by Niall Robb

10.05AM, Fri Nov 11 2011

Well Folks,

Hope all is going well this semester and everyone has settled in and is working hard.

Just to give you an update on what I have been up to the last few weeks. I have attended a few of the university committees were I have expressed all the student issues.

most of the issues that have come up are assement and feedback which the university is working with the Students' union to try and correct this problem. retention levels have been coming up a lot and it is key students are registered and attending class as all faculties are taking a stong hold on this in this academic year. fees will be caped for the next four years here and will rise a bit with inflation and £6000 will be charged to all GB students.

With Ciara's (our VP Campaigns and Communications) help there has been a sucessful sexual health campaign run and an assesment and feedback awareness campaign also.

Our campus council has been elected and 5 of our students will be sitting on this representing your views.

What's coming up:

Take me out 21st of November

Christmas ball Monday 12th December.

Don't forget if you need anything let me know i'm here to help.

till next time,

Niall

» Welcome to the Coleraine Campus

Firstly I would like to welcome all our new first year and international students to the University of Ulster and will look forward to meeting you in the year ahead. I am also happy to welcome you to the Coleraine campus and I’m confident your time here will be both enjoyable and successful!

I would also like to welcome back our returning students and congratulations with your exam results and I hope it will be another enjoyable year for you this year at the Coleraine campus!

For those who do not know how the Students’ Union works it is made up of seven sabbatical officers across the four campuses of the University of Ulster. I am the representative for the Coleraine campus.

The union is here to make your stay as an enjoyable as possible and I can help you to find societies and clubs to help your stay here. Also get involved with campaigns around university as it’s you the student who will help to make them a success!

I am here to help you with any problems big or small you may have around campus. These can be academic issues such as, academic appeals, module amendments, course problems or any other general academic issues.

I also am here to deal with any other student affairs from advice on finance, accommodation and health issues.

As your student representative I will promise to do my best with all problems you have and hope to help you deal with them.

So don’t be afraid to come and visit my office on the second floor of the Students’ Union area in the south building if you need advice on anything or even just want a chat.
