» Update from Sports Union President

1.48PM, Fri Nov 11 2011

Hi everyone, I hope you have all settled in well, went to at least some of your classes and haven’t blown all of your student loans just yet!

We have had four very successful Freshers Fayres and I would like to thank everyone who helped in any way to make them such a success. If you missed out on the fun don’t worry you can still sign up to the sports clubs and societies. Club details are available on the Sports Union website and check out our Facebook pages for updates.

We now have Sports Development Assistants based on three of our campuses, three days a week to help our clubs and I would advise them to make the most of this resource! I would encourage any students on the Belfast campus interested in sport to come along and join the clubs on the Jordanstown campus. The facilities and clubs are there for your use so make I welcome to you to make use of them.

The closing date for the Sports Union raffle is the 31st November. This is a great opportunity for clubs to pump money into their budgets and for students, staff and anyone else to get their hands on some great prizes ranging from £1000 to a home cinema!

Finally, just to remind everyone that you CANNOT train or play with any sports club unless you have taken out your Sports Union membership. This costs just £25 and £3 for any additional club and can be purchased in the each of our sports centres.
I would like to wish everyone the best of look for the rest of the semester both on and of the sports fields and don’t be afraid to contact the Sports Development Assistants or myself if you have any sporting queries!
